When comparing services, first check these four things
Scope of inspection
Look beyond the number of items, and also consider which operations are included, on-site conditions, and areas that cannot be inspected.
Quotation details
Check basic fees, minimum charges, included items, additional tests requiring permission, and whether reinspection is subject to additional charges.
Report delivery
Electronic reports do not include photos and are typically issued on the next working day; compare the record content and delivery arrangements to understand how to follow up after receipt.
Work records available for review
Use actual inspection photos to understand the recording style, and read client feedback on bookings, briefings, and delivery, rather than just looking at promotional adjectives.
Questions about choosing an inspection company
Compare inspection providers, then explore OPO
What should I compare first when choosing an inspection company?
Check the inspection scope, operating conditions, complete quotation and report delivery before comparing prices. A checklist count or marketing claim alone does not establish quality. Ask what can be inspected, what is restricted and how findings are recorded and explained.
What information should I prepare for an inspection quote?
Provide the estate or full address, saleable area, property condition and preferred date. Explain lift access, any stairs and whether utilities and equipment work. Our rate is HK$4.5 per sq ft, with area-based minimum fees. Confirm stair and remote-area surcharges and reinspection fees for your arrangements.
How can I use the inspection company's electronic report?
OPO issues the inspection report on the next working day, without photographs. Owners can use the recorded locations and findings to follow up with developers or contractors and check the original items after repairs. The report is not a structural safety certificate and does not guarantee acceptance of every repair request.
